Overview
Stridepath helps runners train with live guidance, but the old run screen buried pace and heart rate in small type nobody could read mid-stride. People kept breaking rhythm to squint at their phones.
I rebuilt the run screen around a single principle: one big glanceable number. Live pace coaching sits beside it, a lock-screen widget covers eyes-free checks, and every version was tested on real outdoor runs.
Built for mid-run glances
Challenge
Runners could not read pace and heart rate at a glance mid-run. Small type, cluttered stats, and no coaching meant every check of the phone broke their rhythm.
Approach
I sketched run screens on paper, tested them on real runs, then rebuilt the screen around live pace coaching with one big glanceable number and a lock-screen widget.
Outcome
A run screen runners read in a single glance, a lock-screen widget for the moments the phone stays pocketed, and a component kit the team still builds on.
